How to Celebrate at The Avery

“They celebrated their 40th birthday at The Avery.”

Whether it’s a major milestone or a little victory, life is full of things worth celebrating. And when it comes to recognizing those occasions, there’s celebrating, and then there’s celebrating at The Avery. Because at The Avery, there’s no shortage of ways to do so, from a quick lunch to a leisurely dinner, a last-minute happy hour to a long-planned weekend stay, a private table for 20, or a private event for 100.

CELEBRATION FOR 2

End the week by escaping to the luxury of your own suite – a little splurge for a special occasion. First stop, your oversized tub to soak away the week while soaking in 120 years of Boise history. Then make your way downstairs to Tiner’s Alley for some late-night eats – a scotch egg, a basket of fries, and a double smash burger with bacon to share – though you’d argue the split wasn’t exactly 50/50. Raise a pint to each other and end the night with so many games of pool that today technically turns into tomorrow.

Sleep off your late bedtime (thanks, late check-out) and end your overnight staycation celebration with a brunch that does not disappoint. There’s brioche French toast for a little breakfast, mac & cheese for a little lunch, a little champagne, and a lot of thinking that maybe a one-night celebration wasn’t enough.

CELEBRATION FOR 4

Grab your best friends for a night out to celebrate some exciting news worthy of a good bottle of wine, or three, and some Michelin-star-level food. You can’t agree on oysters or steak tartare to start, so the only solution is both. You then turn to the ‘to share’ section of the menu and decide on Cote de Boeuf for the table – 42-day dry-aged ribeye served with potato puree and green beans – eating light is no way to celebrate. Then, before booking your ride home, you suggest a nightcap of perfectly crafted old fashioneds next to the fire at Tiner’s Alley – it’s not a hard sell. And neither is the toffee pudding with four spoons.

CELEBRATION FOR 20

You and a dozen-plus of your closest friends and family arrive and are seated at the Avery chef’s table – a table worthy of marking a 40th birthday with your favorite people. You and your guests settle in and raise a glass to the occasion. Then the fun really begins as the special menu you worked on with Chef Cal Elliott starts to unfold. Plate after plate of delicious dishes are passed around the table, each one more mouth-watering than the last – mixed grilled ceviche, crispy artichokes, handmade pasta, and braised short ribs. And then, just as you declare you couldn’t eat another bite, the desserts arrive, and if you must, you must – dessert always makes the birthday song sound better. That’s just science.

CELEBRATION FOR MANY

As they enter through an alley entrance that makes your event seem that much more exclusive, you welcome your guests into the warmth of your very own English-inspired gastro tavern – an extraordinary setting for your intimate wedding reception. Here, people mingle, sharing endless stories along the historic bartop. A steady stream of crowd-pleasing appetizers and desserts circulate throughout the room, accompanied by several toasts’ worth of bubbly and an abundance of revelry that surpasses your expectations for a single night. As the numbers finally start to dwindle, some race to get one last game of pool in or make their second round of goodbyes next to the fireplace. But the celebration will continue with a brunch debrief in the morning for those smart enough to have a room upstairs for the night.

What will you celebrate next?

A milestone birthday? A new job you’d been hoping for? Making it through a particularly long week? Whatever you have to celebrate, let us make it something to remember. Whether you decide on an intimate dinner for two, a celebratory brunch for several, or a private party for many, we’ll be here with a new Chef Cal creation, refreshing cocktail, or luxuriously comfortable bed with your name on it.

Cheers!
